Given it's the day after Halloween, you might see some remaining makeup left on your face this morning.   I'll start off the today by telling you about a great "cleanser" you use, BEFORE your normal cleanser.   (I've put "cleanser" in quotes, because Precleanse is not technically a cleanser.)

Dermalogica's Precleanse.  

Every skin condition can use this product.  Especially Oily skin.  You may be thinking, "Use Oil on my Oily skin, NO WAY!"   The fact is, Oil and Oil mix.  By using Precleanse, the excess oil on your skin is lifted away and you are left with a perfectly balanced PH.  Precleanse dissolves all traces of makeup, including eye makeup, so when you wash your face with your regular cleanser you will have a deeper cleanse. 

Precleanse has all sorts of wonderful ingredients that are great for your skin.   Lightweight Olive and Apricot kernal are the main ingredients.  Add to that, Rice Brain, Kukui Nut, and Borage Seed oils and you have yourself an amazing blend of water loving,  skin loving oils to dissolve all traces of debris and excess oil from your face.  

The way to use Precleanse is great.   Put about a pea size amount in the palm of your hand.  Rub your hands together and apply to a dry face.  Gently massage in little, light circles until entire face is covered.  (Including eyes)  Then add water.   After you've massaged it with water, rinse off.   Then proceed with your normal cleanser.  Your skin will feel so clean after you are done with your cleansing process.  

It retails for around $33 and a tiny bit goes a long way.  Use it sparingly.  

I absolutely love Dermalogica's Precleanse.  I am positive you will too!  :)

I had to write a quick post about a M.A.C. blush I picked up the other day and wore for the first time yesterday.  M.A.C. Mineralize Blush.

Baked Minerals give this blush a lightweight and sheer application.  I bought "Gleeful" and am definitely that!  I applied "Gleeful" yesterday morning at 8am before I headed to work.  After a long, hot, and humid 13 hour day, I still had a nice color to my cheeks!   As a foundation I tried my new M.A.C. Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, and even that was still on!   I never felt like I was wearing makeup and my skin looked flawless.  It didn't settle into my fine lines or look cakey,  which I have experienced with other Mineral Cosmetics on the market.  

I am THRILLED with M.A.C. Mineralize line!  :)  Give it a try, the colors are gorgeous and it feels so natural!

They performed at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip last night and their performances will be shown on Music Mogul.Com tonight, starting at 6pm, for people to cast their votes for the next Music Mogul.  

First off, let me say how ecstatic I was to be in the main dressing room at the House of Blues.  I swear to you, I could feel the energy of the rock stars that have lounged and hung out in there.  Behind the scenes at HOB is AWESOME!   I am a rocker girl at heart and this was really cool!  ;)   Okay, back to what I did....;p

There are 4 finalists I worked with.  Stacy B., Angelica, Suzi, and Rick.  ALL of them have AMAZING voices and talent.  Below are the pictures of my work.  The makeup looks extremely heavy due to the fact that they were going to be on stage and it has to be that heavy to look "normal" to the audience.  Even on the red carpet outside, (Check out video from Fox News 11 below) you'll see how much more muted the colors appear.

We booked the Couple's Retreat, and when we arrived we were warmly greeted by Kat, the owner.  Kat explained to us that the design of her spa, was inspired by the numerous spas she and her husband have traveled to worldwide.  Her 6,000 sq. ft. spa is just GORGEOUS!!!  With high ceilings, relaxing music playing, candles lit, I was immediately put in a relaxed state.  She led us down the stunning, dimly lit, marble hallway to our lockers.  We changed into our comfy robes and slippers and waited to be taken into the Couple's retreat room.  Again, the atmosphere is simply relaxing and beautiful.  The attention to detail in Healing Touch is phenomenal.  The best of the best is used everywhere.  When we were brought into the Couple's Retreat room, the candles were lit, the starlit dome in the ceiling was twinkling and the tray of grapes, cheese, crackers, raspberries, and strawberries awaited with a few splits of chilled champagne and chilled water.  We were asked when we booked our appointment if we would like champagne or sparkling apple cider, we opted for champagne.  

We were told we had about 25 minutes to soak and relax before our treatments began.  The tub was a perfect temperature and we ate our snacks and drank our champagne.  I thought it was the perfect amount of both, given we were about to have treatments.   After our soak, we showered in the "rain" shower in the room. Again, amazing and gorgeous.  I didn't know a shower could feel so good.  

I left my husband in the room to get his massage with Judith and I was taken into the facial room with Keri.  I opted for a facial here because I needed one and since I am a skin care therapist myself, I don't trust many with my face.  I love the fact that Healing Touch is a Dermalogica based Spa.  I have seen amazing, transforming results with Dermalogica products.  As I slipped into the facial bed, which was so comfortable from the shape of the facial bed, (not just a flat bed, with a bolster placed under my knees) the high thread count sheets felt so good and I was in complete relaxation as Keri began the facial.  Keri's touch is firm yet relaxing.  I felt completely at ease being in her hands, no pun intended.  Keri took care of my skin care concerns and even her extractions didn't hurt too much.  My skin was left glowing, more even toned and hydrated.  (Which has lasted a week so far.)  I was given samples of a couple of the products I don't use and am going to buy them today, because the Age Smart line is amazing! 

My husband is VERY particular when it comes to massages.  Most of the time his experience has been the massage therapist doesn't go deep enough during the massage.  When he walked out, he was smiling and relaxed.   He said Judith was great!  Judith worked out every kink and knot in his shoulders.  

So as their ad states, "Walk in, Float out..." is exactly what we did.   We made the decision to go back at least once a month or two for massages and facials.  Along with great treatments, the front lobby area has such great products for sale.  They are the only place that carries the Child Perfume line.  Which, of course, I had to buy.  

Do yourself a HUGE favor and book a couple nights in either San Luis Obispo or Avila Beach and book some treatments at Healing Touch Day Spa.  This spa blows away ANY of the highest end day spas here in Los Angeles and the skin care therapists and massage therapists are top notch!  Trust me, I've had my share of bad facials and massages.    

3 more weeks until we go back!  :) Cannot wait......Thanks Kat,  Kerri and Judith for making our experience at Healing Touch nothing short of wonderful.   See you soon!
